We are delighted to be able to announce that Tony Mills will be re-joining his old band-mates and the current Shy lineup to appear at the Steve Harris tribute show. Tony says:
“It is with great pleasure and beyond all hope, that the planets have aligned and I can be present to share the stage with so many talented musicians at the Asylum Venue in Birmingham on 28 October 2012, to celebrate the career and music of Steve Harris from SHY. The concert is really about raising money for the treatment and rehabilitation of brain tumour patients and the intention is to make a considerable donation to this cause, so that we can develop a greater understanding and appreciation of what is involved and what development is essential for all of our futures, not least our children.
SHY plan to play the full list from their recent acclaimed album, and most, if not all of the musicians that have worked with Steve since the early 80’s have held up their hands to stress their involvement, commendably.
I know that it will be an historic occasion in the annals of Birmingham and its rock heritage, following in all our hero’s footsteps and leaving Steve’s indelible mark for others to take such an inspiring example.
All I can say right now, as we sift through all his work, is that we would love to see SHY fans from everywhere; this is a one off gig with musicians that I personally haven’t worked with for nearly twenty five years, so I guess we’ll all have a lot to share, fans and musicians alike.
If you can get there, we want to meet you and celebrate Steve Harris.
Please come and let’s all make a difference while we have the opportunity to do so.
